ATLANTA – The BET Hip Hop Awards officially got underway with hip-hop heads flooding the streets in the city that has breathed life into the genre for the past two decades. One of the biggest pre-BET Awards parties happened was the annual barbecue celebrity party put on by 135th Street Agency at Piedmont Park’s Magnolia Hall, where the likes of Ray J, DaBrat, Derek J, Fonzworth Bentley, Shanti Das, DJ Traci Steele, DJ Drama, Devyne Stephens, Dondria, Lil Duval, French Montana, Verse Simmonds and WSB TV news anchor Jovita Moore danced, imbibed libations and mixed it up in grand style.
With Fonzworth and Kelly G helping 135th Street ring in the awards weekend in the ATL, guests were able to sip on complimentary Remy V and FUZE drinks while chomping on hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian sausages, barbecue chicken, potato salad, baked beans, corn, Popeye’s chicken and a variety of cupcakes from Cocktail Cupcakes and Tasty Cakes ATL.
A team from Universal Pictures was also up on the set to promote the Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller action-comedy Tower Heist and guests left the spot in the wee hours with gift bags filled with products from Carol’s Daughter, Miracles, Rocksmith, Mixed Chicks, The Source and JUICY magazine.
